Bienvenidos a la clase de español:
Hola, my name is JoAnna Coleman and I have been teaching Spanish at Wilson High School since the fall of 2003. I absolutely love teaching Spanish and teaching at Wilson! I feel so fortunate to be able to work with such an amazing group of staff, students and parents. Every day I am truly humbled by the amazing abilities, talents, dedication and motivation of my students.
During the 2007-2008 school year I was selected as one of five US teachers to participate in the Fulbright Teacher Exchange program to Chile. My husband accompanied me to beautiful Viña del Mar right on the coast in central Chile. We had many opportunities to travel throughout the country and to neighboring Argentina.
I have participated in study abroad programs to Costa Rica and Ecuador.
I have also traveled to Peru and Bolivia, visiting Incan ruins such as Macchu Piccu and island-hopping in Lake Titicaca, I have visited the Galapagos Islands and the Amazon rain forest, and scuba-dived off of the small Honduran island of Roatán.
I have led student groups to Mexico City and Spain.
My dream trip is to travel through Guatemala to visit the Mayan ruins, stroll through open-air markets and boat on Lake Atitlan!
